Yawns & Frowns
Hello People,
Went to KLPac last evening to watch this show called betrayal. I wasn’t supposed to but due to a last minute pull out by another person, my friend called me as she knew I was interested in these kinda things. So there I was with this hot looking Chinese chick wearing this low rise jeans with a shapely ass and another hot looking malay chick with an equally curvaceous ass. Yummy! Totally orgasmic experience!
And honestly I was glad that she had called as it has been yonks since I last attended theater. Well, the show was called Betrayal and the main cast consisted of Ari Ratos and Bernice Chauly and one other guy whom I thought walked rather funnily which the malay girl with the curvaceous ass quietly concurred to my thoughts. This person who walked funny played a somewhat forgettable role, thank God as I was freakingly irritated everytime he took to stage!. Ari and Bernice, both of which I have to say carried their roles superbly, even kissing scenes were well done. I certainly wouldn’t mind locking lips with the luscious Bernice…vava voom!!!!
But something piqued my curiosity. The whole play except for when they were doing the drunk party scene was done in this very monotonous deadpan tone. I mean there were hardly any facial expression, no gestures and certainly no emotions. I had discussed this issue at length and with me trying to mimic the intonation, which I have to add ended up sounding as if I had something in my throat, no it was not another guy’s dick and I have not turned gay yet!!! (cough cough), with my friend and the both of us couldn’t come up with a satisfying answer as to why they chose to the play is such a way.
I came up with a theory that they wanted the audience to just concentrate on the script and dialogue and not be distracted by their acting skills. Heh, I think there were more yawns due to the boring monotony rather than the frowns of people deep in concentration! The dialogue was very well written and was very deep and needed concentration from the audience to grasp the concept of the play. That’s my guess as to why it was done with such monotony. But then again I could be wrong.
I do have a grouse in how they depicted the roles they played. If I were to bring a first time theater go-er to watch such a play, I am very sure that person would have left with much skepticism as to why people would actually want to part with their hard earned dollars and cents to watch such a boring show. I would have thought that the producers should have informed the theater go-ers that it was an experimental play so as not to drive away would be future theater go-ers.
Anyways, the evening ended up with more questions than answers. Although I have to admit, the Chinese girl I was out with together with the malay chick, I could never figure out whether she was wearing thongs, strings or grandmothers..oh well….cest la vie
